Based on original research and development work by NASA and Hamilton Standard (today United Technologies), our Seawind 6 and Seawind 12 floating offshore wind turbines and integrated concrete floating foundations are patented and achieved Technology Readiness Level 5, certified by DNV.

Large wind farms
Our 12MW turbine solution is a cost-effective alternative for the development of large wind farms. Its unique design, and its assembly and installation methods should potentially result in a LCOE of €40/MWh by 2040
Smaller ‘higher wind speed’ wind farms
Seawind 6 MW turbine solution is perfect for small islands and coastal communities wishing to generate their own supply of low carbon renewable energy. Our solution can tolerate wind speeds upto 325km/h, making it also an ideal solution for cyclonic regions.
Energy transition – including green hydrogen
Seawind is dedicated to helping major power consumers decarbonise. Seawind is working on future new green hydrogen production solutions that should offset or replace their carbon footprint.

The offshore wind’s contribution to the wider energy mix will increase as we get closer to 2050, reaching aout 40% of total wind production with a significant scaling of global installed offshore wind capacity, from 29 GW in 2019 to 1,748 GW in 2050. Floating offshore wind is anticipated to generate 15% of all offshore wind energy, contributing 264 GW by 2050 versus only 0.1 GW in 2021. Offshore wind will grow from a small base to account for more than 60% of ocean energy capex in 2050. Over the same timeframe, the Oil & Gas industry will shrink from 80% of total ocean energy capex to just 25%. By 2050, offshore wind will provide about as much energy as offshore oil, the production of which would shrink by 50% compared with 2019 levels. In 2018, the total ocean energy operating expenses amounted to $333 billion (with offshore wind operating expenses share just under 2%) and they may rise to $370 billion in 2050 with an estimated offshore wind operating expenses share at 21%.
