Curaçao delegation visiting Seawind Ocean Technology

Last week at our offices in Amstelveen in the Netherlands, Seawind Ocean Technology had the honor to present its  innovative and cost-effective floating wind turbines to the Delegation of Curaçao. Their visit to Seawind was part of the program ‘Floating Wind Pilot Project in the Curaçao Economic Zone’ and facilitated by the Dutch research institute TNO and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Delegation was represented by all important stakeholders of Curaçao within the field of sustainable energy such as: Aqualectra, Curoil, CPA (Curaçao Ports Authority), RdK (Refineria di Kòrsou) and Afvaardiging ambtelijke werkgroep of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Seawind is the only Dutch manufacturer of wind turbines that has its own two bladed patented and proprietary technology that will re-define the offshore wind industry with the significant reductions in costs. Seawind’s Chief Operations Officer Maarten van Aller  and Chair of the Board Vincent Dewulf  hosted the Delegation and showcased  how Seawind’s sustainable wind turbines and straightforward deployment would be a perfect fit for the imminent projects in Curaçao. With the goal of Curaçao to generate 50% renewable electricity by 2025, and actively developing strategies to become a major green energy production hub in which floating offshore wind plays a pivotal role, Seawind is looking forward to supporting these sustainable ambitions with the deployment of our innovative wind turbines.

Seawind’s new product development and entry into the bottom fixed market targeting the UK, US and the Baltics

Seawind Ocean Technology, a leading turnkey supplier of floating and bottom fixed offshore wind assets, announces an engagement agreement with GICON®, an internationally active engineering service provider for fixed and floating offshore wind farms.

October 25th, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Seawind Ocean Technology is addressing the major offshore wind energy challenges whilst concurrently maximizing the economic benefits for commercial projects. With Seawind’s disruptive and proven turbine technology, in combination with the innovative floating or bottom fixed solutions, Seawind offers a huge competitive advantage both in CAPEX & OPEX bringing down the levelized cost of electricity. Seawind is dedicated to decarbonization by redefining the global offshore wind industry and by generating clean, affordable, and reliable energy for all seas and oceans, including cyclonic areas. The focus of the engagement agreement will be on re-designing Seawind’s ‘Float-to-Fixed’ base structure concept, which was developed by Seawind in 2015.

Within the framework of this agreement, GICON® will assist the technical team of Seawind to readjust the ‘Float-to-Fixed’ concept on certain aspects of concept design. Through this engagement agreement, GICON® will support Seawind’s ambition to redefining the offshore bottom -fixed segment of the wind industry.

Seawind is warmly welcoming Ivett Hirling as Director Finance & Accounting. Ivett is a Hungarian national with more than 10 years of working experience in finance and accounting in the UK and Hungary.

She is a passionate, organized and experienced ACCA qualified professional with significant experience in IT, project management, manufacturing and nonprofit sectors with a strong record of developing, implementing and maintaining effective financial policies and procedures to comply with regulations and governance requirements.

From 2017 Ivett was a Group Management Accountant at Sinnalba Group Ltd where she played significant role in the financial analysis of 3 target companies (worldwide) for a successful multi-billion-dollar acquisition research project. Later as a Finance Director at Stakam Ltd she helped the company to set up its own finance function and provided a 5-year Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecast for a successfully won Joint Venture project.

Seawind welcomes Ahkam El-Zawahry

Seawind is growing rapidly and proud to announce that Ahkam El-Zawahry has joined Seawind Ocean Technology as General Manager Middle-East!

Ahkam brings over 20 years of extensive energy experience working with Shell Gas, LNG and power businesses in senior business development, commercial, finance and market access roles covering Egypt, Levant, the East Med region and UK/Ireland.

Throughout her professional career with leading multinationals and the Ministry of Industry & Foreign Trade, she grew the business organically and inorganically, matured LNG trading market access deals, led negotiations for Shell commercial and multilateral agreements with the European Commission and the World Bank as well as operationalizing IPP power purchase agreement. Ahkam has mastery in stakeholder engagement and aligning multiple parties’ interests leveraging her thorough understanding of the value chain, customer requirements and market fundamentals. Ahkam has served as the Acting Board Director for Shell midstream subsidiary in Egypt. And is currently a non-executive board member in EFG Hermes Corporate Solutions and Tanmeyah (Micro Finance).

Ahkam is passionate about growing Egypt’s and the regional renewable energy footprint to contribute to the energy transition and sustainable development goals.

CEO Dimitrios Moudouris participating in Recharge Hydrogen Summit at WindEnergy Hamburg

Seawind Technology CEO, Dimitrios Moudouris joined the Recharge Hydrogen Summit at WindEnergy Hamburg as a panelist in the session “Will wind, solar and electrolyser manufacturers be able to meet the gargantuan demand required to produce hundreds of gigawatts of green hydrogen in the coming decades?

In this session Dimitrios will elaborate on the announcement earlier this week of Seawind and Aquaterra planning to build a 3.2GW floating wind project off Sardinia that would produce huge volumes of electricity and 1GW of green hydrogen.
